I finally got a library card! And I'm hoping to use it a lot! I'm gonna try and log what I check out and maybe how I feel about the books. We'll see how this goes.

This is the first book in a currently (as of March 2025) in-progress sci-fi trilogy. My friend picked it out for me when we got our library cards. Initially it was due today (March 9), but I already renewed it because I am only 11 chapters in out of the 27. Not because it's not interesting or I'm a slow reader (it's partially because I'm a slow reader) but because my boyfriend came to visit so I didn't have a lot of time to read before).
It's a very interesting book, I'm always a fan of sci-fi stories (I'm in the process of writing my own). This book is mainly centered around a chase. The characters are trying to uncover secrets that could upturn the basis of the current ruling power. Some are trying to sell these secrets, seemingly not caring what is done with them, or not realizing the magnitude of their effects, others are trying to hide them to maintain their power. And then there's one character whose motivation we don't fully know, a wildcard.
My favorite character so far is Esek, she's a very power-hungry and cruel person, which makes her incredibly interesting to read about. Her description is what made me decide to read the book, as I'm a huge fan of characters like this.
