This page will document my playthrough of the Mega Dimension DLC starting December 2025 for my first Pokemon Legends ZA playthrough.
I will likely take a while to finish it, as I usually play through DLC much slower than the main game. But I'll try to update this page whenever I do play! It'll be slow going but I wanna make sure I'm playing for enjoyment rather than just for completion.
The premise of the DLC story really intrigues me, and I'm excited to meet all the new Mega Pokemon! My initial favorite of the DLC megas is mega Chimecho! I love psychic/steel types so getting more of them is awesome! I don't know if I'm going to be making a new team for the DLC, but if I do, Chimecho will definitely be part of it!

Preparations!
The DLC was announced to be released way sooner than I (and I think everyone) expected, which was exciting, but came with a few issues. Due to my post game project of a normal + alpha + shiny living dex, I very quickly ran out of box space in my save file. And with the DLC being released before Pokemon Home compatibility, I knew I had to do something about my box space situation. I initially tried trading away extra shinies, but since I wasn't getting very far with that, and I had a trip to visit family coming up, I ended up taking a break from the game for about 2.5 weeks (I also got very distracted from gaming because I learned to crochet).
The DLC finally released, and I thought I was going to wait until Home compatibility since my friends hadn't planned on getting it on release either, but I saw how fun it looked and couldn't help it. I ended up going with a very expensive solution, I bought a second copy of the game so I could trade my normal living dex to myself, which would give me enough space to keep an alpha and shiny living dex for the base game plus the dlc. I also planned to trade a lot of my extra shinies over, giving me a few extra boxes on top of that. The good thing is that in buying the game in person, I got a nice discount on the DLC ($7 off). I also decided to get the DLC for one of my friends as a Christmas gift as well.
Once I got my second copy, I got to work getting to a point where I could trade the living dex over. It took me 9.5 hours of playtime to do that. And then I spent a couple more days getting Diancie and Mewtwo (They're really hard to catch!!). Finally after all that, I was finally ready to start the DLC.

Starting out!
Can you tell I was shiny hunting the starters when I last played on that file?
I had looked up a lot of stuff in preparation for the DLC, but I was mostly unspoiled for the way the DLC starts. Ansha showing up just on the roof and asking for help making a donut is super unexpected. Every scene has been full of personality and incredibly enjoyable. Ansha is a really good character and I love how team MZ immediately adopts her into the group despite how confused they were about her motives. Naveen being concerned was super funny to me, he's right but like what else can we do but just follow along at this point?
I saw people get mad about this fake choice in the game so I made sure to screenshot it. I do wish we could've chosen who to go with, it seems a bit weird to even put a fake option there, but it's kinda funny in a way.
Once we were done with the first Hyperspace portal, we got to see a really nice title sequence! I saved the video a little early, but I'm glad I thought to save it at all.

TO BE ADDED!Living Dex Project
Having learned from my mistakes, I'm only doing an alpha and shiny living dex for the DLC. However there are some Pokemon (legendaries) that cannot be alpha or shiny, so I will collect them in their normal forms. All legendaries that Can be shiny I will try to shiny hunt. I'll add some progress bars to this later!
